What it is for
Your company wants to look after the computers of employees or customers remotely — without running a server. With the cloud the relay runs at BrowserDesk on browserdesk.de; you get your own access with console, device list and permissions. This quick start shows the order; each step points to the detailed guide.
What you need
- A business, a public authority or an association (paid options exist only for these).
- An idea of how many devices you look after or how many technicians work at the same time — the price calculator takes the cheaper billing (A1).
- The devices: Windows, macOS or Linux; controlling also works from a phone, tablet or in the browser.
How to do it
- Check the option — cloud, or your own relay after all? A1 answers that in a few questions.
- Buy — online by card (A3) or on invoice (A4). While doing so you choose the name of your access; afterwards the link for setting up the administrator account arrives by e-mail.
- Open the console — sign in to the console on browserdesk.de with the administrator account. There you see your access, and later the devices, users and settings.
- Install BrowserDesk — on every device you want to look after (C1).
- Bring the devices into the access (C2): - one by one: sign in on the device and choose Dieses Gerät hinzufügen (Add this device), or use a one-time code; - many at once: create a distribution key in the console and pass it along at installation (MSI, group policy, Intune, script).
- Connect technicians — with ID and password (D2), from "My devices" or in the browser without installation (D4). Spontaneous help with a quick code (D1) works for devices in your access and for strangers' computers.
How you know it worked
In the console your devices appear in the device list with their status. After connecting, a technician sees the device's screen.
Good to know
- Unattended access — connecting without anyone at the device agreeing — is part of the cloud. Whether the device still asks is something you set as administrator.
- Devices outside your access count as Free on browserdesk.de: quick code yes, but every session must be confirmed at the device. So add devices you look after regularly to your access.
- Add-ons such as control room, ticket system, start center and remote console are booked on top (A1); extended inventory is only available with your own relay.
- Your connection data is on BrowserDesk's relay. If it should stay in-house: Q3.
If it does not work
| You see | Fix |
|---|---|
| No e-mail after the purchase | Check your spam folder; when buying on invoice the link only comes after the payment has been received (A4). |
| A device is not accepted | All purchased device seats are taken — remove a device or book more devices (A1). |
| The quick code does not come | Look up the sentence shown at the device in H14 — usually the device cannot reach the relay right now. Otherwise use ID and password (D2). |
