Work on one device together — request and hand over control
Two technicians are connected at the same time; either both may control, or one controls and hands control over on request.

What it is for
A colleague should look at the device as well or take over. Both connect to the same device. Depending on the settings both may control — or only one, and the other watches until they get control.
What you need
- Cloud or an own relay. Free allows only one session at a time.
- Each technician connects as usual with ID and password (D2) — with BrowserDesk on a computer or in the browser.
How to do it
Who may control
- By default everyone who is connected may control.
- Only one should control: at the device, EinstellungenSicherheit (Settings > Security) → card Zugriffssteuerung (Access control) → switch on Nur ein Viewer darf steuern (Only one viewer may control). In the console: for the device or the access under Settings → Access and permissions → Multiple viewers may control. Then whoever connected first controls; the others see "Nur Ansicht" (view only).
Switch during the session
Whoever controls chooses in the Steuerung (Control) menu under "MODUS" (mode):
- Alle dürfen steuern (Everyone may control) — both control at the same time.
- Nur ich (exklusiv) (Only me — exclusive) — only you control, the others watch.
In the browser it is the selection "Modus…" in the same menu.
Request and hand over control
Whoever is watching
- Menu Steuerung → Steuerung anfragen (Request control).
- "Steuerungs-Anfrage gesendet …" (control request sent) appears.
- Once the other person releases it, "Nur Ansicht" disappears and you control.
Whoever is controlling
- "Ein Viewer möchte die Steuerung übernehmen." (a viewer wants to take over control) appears with Erlauben (Allow) — for about 12 seconds. In the browser a window "Steuerung abgeben?" (hand over control?) asks.
- Erlauben — control goes to the colleague, from now on you watch.
How you know it worked
For whoever controls now, the "Nur Ansicht" badge has gone; the other one shows it.
What the other side sees
The person at the device sees both connections in the small session window. The tiles are then labelled "BETRACHTER DÜRFEN" (viewers may) — whatever they switch off there applies to everyone. Alle trennen (Disconnect all) ends both connections (F1).
Good to know
- If the person in control leaves, the viewer connected longest gets control.
- If the person in control is no longer reachable, a request is granted at once — so nobody blocks for good.
- Controlling is a permission of the device: if the person at the device switched off Steuern (Control), a request does not help either (F3). Then "Nur Ansicht — nicht steuerbar" (view only — not controllable) is shown and Steuerung anfragen is missing.
- What only one can do: ask for the device's microphone (E13), show your own screen (E15), draw (E14) — each only whoever is controlling.
- In the control room a tile is view-only; control happens in the opened session (D8).
If it does not work
