Show your own screen to the person at the device
The technician shows something on their own computer — after consent at the device, their screen appears there in a window of its own.

What it is for
Sometimes the technician wants to show something on their own computer: "this is how it looks on my side", a guide, a form. Their screen then appears at the device in a window of its own — the session in the other direction keeps running.
What you need
- A Windows device with BrowserDesk from version 20261010.44, or a Mac or Linux device from 20261019.1, with a user signed in.
- A direct connection — not through the relay tunnel (E33).
- The control right in the session. Only one person can show at a time.
- Technician: BrowserDesk on a computer or web access in the browser. It does not work from a phone or tablet.
- Someone at the device who agrees.
How to do it
Technician
- Program: click the icon Meinen Bildschirm zeigen (Show my screen) in the session bar → Meinen Bildschirm zeigen …. With several screens, Welchen Bildschirm zeigen? (Which screen to show?) asks — pick one. Browser: menu Meinen Bildschirm zeigen → Meinen Bildschirm zeigen …. The browser itself asks which screen or window to share.
- Wait until the device agrees. Until then the menu says "Am Gerät wird gefragt, ob Ihr Bildschirm angezeigt werden darf …" (the device is being asked); the device only receives a black picture until then.
- Afterwards: "Das Gerät sieht Ihren Bildschirm." (The device sees your screen.)
- To stop: Zeigen beenden (Stop showing).
Person at the device
- Bildschirm des Technikers anzeigen? (Show the technician's screen?) appears.
- Anzeigen (Show) — a window "Techniker zeigt seinen Bildschirm – <name>" (technician shows their screen) opens with the technician's screen. Or Ablehnen (Deny).
- Close it any time with Schließen (Close) at the top of the window, the X or Alt+F4.
How you know it worked
The menu says "Das Gerät sieht Ihren Bildschirm.", the icon is red.
What the other side sees
A window with your screen, about three quarters of the size of the main screen, with a strip "Techniker zeigt seinen Bildschirm" and Schließen at the top. The own screen of the person at the device stays as it is.
Good to know
- You do not see the window in your picture of the device — you see what lies behind it. That avoids a "picture in a picture in a picture". On Linux you see a black area in its place. Windows versions before 10 (2004) and Linux with Wayland cannot do this; then you see the window as well.
- Better show a different screen from the one your session window is on — otherwise the person at the device sees their own desktop in your picture.
- You cannot agree on their behalf: while the question is open at the device, the device ignores your clicks and keys.
- After a "no" you can ask again only after 30 seconds.
- The window at the device closes when the session ends.
