What it is for
During a session you suddenly see red lines or a red dot on your screen. This is not a fault and not a virus. It is your helper. He is showing you something — like a finger on the screen: "Click here." He does not click himself.
What you need
- A Windows computer with a running session.
- Nothing else. You do not have to set anything up.
How to do it
You do not have to do anything. There are two kinds:
- Red dot with a white rim — the laser pointer. It follows the helper's mouse. When the helper stops moving the mouse, the dot disappears after about one and a half seconds.
- Red lines — the pen. The helper draws a circle around a button, for example. The lines stay until the helper deletes them.
Look at what the helper points to. Then do what he says — with your own mouse.
How you know it worked
You see the red dot or the lines. The helper sees the same in his picture.
What the other side sees
The helper sees your screen with his drawings.
Good to know
- You can keep working as normal. The drawing lies over the screen like a transparent sheet. Your clicks go through it.
- While the helper draws, he does not click. His mouse then only moves the dot or the pen, not your mouse pointer.
- The drawing disappears when the helper deletes it or when the session ends.
- You cannot delete it yourself. If it bothers you, tell the helper — or end the session (F4).
- If you take a screenshot during the session, the drawings can be on it.
- This is only available on Windows computers.
If it does not work
| You see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Red lines stay | The helper has not deleted them yet. Ask him to. |
| The helper says his clicks do not arrive | He still has the pen on. He switches it off in his window (E14). |
| Lines stay even after the session | That should not happen. Report it: EinstellungenAllgemein (Settings > General) → Rückmeldung senden (Send feedback) (F9). |
