Switch monitors or see all monitors at once
If the device has several screens, choose under "Ansicht" (View) which one you see — or all of them side by side.

What it is for
If the computer you control has two or more screens, you first see the primary screen. In the session you switch to another one with two clicks — or you have all screens shown side by side in one picture.
What you need
- A running session (D2, D4).
- A device with at least two screens. With only one screen there is nothing to choose.
- Controlled system: switching is described and measured on Windows devices. It is not described separately for Mac and Linux.
- Viewer: the BrowserDesk program (Windows, Mac, Linux) and the browser. On a phone or tablet the same menu sits in the bar above the picture.
How to do it
In the program:
- Click the Ansicht (View) icon in the bar at the top.
- Under MONITOR every screen is listed with its resolution and a small preview above it. The primary screen has a star (★), the one currently shown a tick.
- Click the screen you want.
- All at once: choose Alle Monitore (All monitors). The entry shows the combined size of all screens.
In the browser: the same via the screen icon Ansicht → section "Monitor". There the entries are called "Monitor 1", "Monitor 2" … with resolution; the primary screen is marked "(Haupt)" (primary).
How you know it worked
- The picture shows the chosen screen; the menu shows the tick (browser: the entry is highlighted).
- The browser reports the chosen entry in its status line.
Good to know
- Screens are counted again and again. If someone at the device plugs a monitor in or out, or a monitor wakes from standby, it appears in the list after a few seconds. If the screen you are watching disappears, the picture jumps to the primary screen.
- Zoom and view position are reset when you switch.
- Resolution at the device: if you changed the resolution of a screen (E2), BrowserDesk restores it when you switch to another screen.
- "Alle Monitore" and H.264: with Alle Monitore the device never uses the graphics-card path (E4).
- In the browser, a second click on the same entry acts as a retry — useful when the switch did not get through on a poor connection.
If it does not work
| You see | Meaning and fix |
|---|---|
| No MONITOR section under Ansicht | The device reports only one screen. This happens when external monitors are in standby or unplugged. Have the monitors switched on; the choice appears after a few seconds. |
| Alle Monitore is missing | The device does not offer this view (older BrowserDesk version on the device). Choose single screens. |
| The picture does not fill the window | The screen has a different aspect ratio than your window. Originalgröße (1:1) (Original size 1:1) under Ansicht shows it pixel for pixel, or E2 adapts the resolution. |
