"After the new password all computers of the access were gone"

After a new password for a user account of the access, computers no longer sign in. Here you find why it happened, which computers it still affects today and how to get them back.

What it is for

In the console you gave a user account of your access a new password. Shortly afterwards computers of the access no longer sign in. The computer shows "Dieser Rechner ist nicht angemeldet" (this computer is not signed in) — below it "Die Anmeldung am Zugang wurde abgelehnt — der Beitritt ist abgelaufen oder wurde widerrufen. …" (the sign-in to the access was refused — the join has expired or was revoked).

Why: the membership of a computer used to depend on the user account it had joined with. A new password for that account invalidated every sign-in of the account — and with it every computer that had joined through it. Exactly this happened on 10 October 2026. Since version 20261010.3 every computer gets its own proof when it signs in and no longer depends on the account.

What you need

  • Administrator rights for the access in the console.
  • For affected computers: someone at the computer or another way to let it join again (C2).

How to do it

Before you change a password

  1. Update the computers first, then change passwords. Computers before version 20261010.3 still depend on the account. Update them first (G5, H11).
  2. Read the confirmation. Console → Tenants → menu ⋮ of the access → Users → in the account's row menu ⋮ → Change password. The console asks first and states the number of affected computers: "The new password invalidates every login token of “…”. … device(s) of this access are still registered through a member account and must join again afterwards if it was this account." If it says "Devices with their own proof are not affected.", you can change it safely.
  3. After the change the message says again how many computers only sign in again after joining anew.

If computers are already gone

  1. Which ones? Console → overview → Devices rejected at registration (24 h). The list gives each computer's reason and what to do. In the device list these computers show Rejected (G20).
  2. Let them join again. On each affected computer: EinstellungenFernzugriff (Settings > Remote access) → card Zugang (access) → sign in and Beitreten (join) — or without a password at the computer with a one-time code (C2). Afterwards the computer gets its own proof; a password change no longer affects it.
  3. Tidy up. Once a computer is back, it disappears from the list by itself. Entries of computers that no longer exist are removed from the list with Acknowledge.

How you know it worked

  • The computers are online again in the console, no longer Rejected.
  • On the computer, the start page shows "Zugang: …" (access) with your access in Ihr Desktop (your desktop).

What the other side sees

After the password change the person at the computer sees the box "Dieser Rechner ist nicht angemeldet". After joining again it disappears. On the first sign-in with its own proof BrowserDesk restarts once in the background — this is intended and happens only once per computer.

Good to know

  • Revoke all tokens in the same dialog deliberately invalidates all proofs of the access — including the computers' own. Only for emergencies, for example when a proof has fallen into the wrong hands.
  • Up to relay 20261016.12 the box on the computer named "Einstellungen → Fernzugriff → „Zugang beitreten“" — what is meant is the card Zugang with Beitreten. Since 20261016.13 it names exactly this path.
