What it is for

If a session was recorded in the console — automatically by a rule or by the technician at the push of a button (E19) — the device uploads the recording after the session ends. In the console you find it with the device, download it as a video file or delete it.

What you need

  • Cloud with a plan that includes session recording, or your own relay. Free never has it.
  • A Windows device — only Windows devices upload recordings to the console. Local recordings on the technician's computer are never in the console.
  • A console account with at least the role Supervisor to view and download; administrator rights (Administrator or Tenant administrator) to delete.

How to do it

  1. In the console open FleetDevices and click the device.
  2. On the left under Remote access → Session recordings. The list shows File, Size and Time, newest first.
  3. At the end of a row open the ⋮ menu (Actions): - Download downloads the WebM file. Play it in an up-to-date browser or a video program such as VLC. - Delete → confirm Delete recording?.

How you know it worked

  • After downloading, the file is in your download folder.
  • After deleting, the console reports "Recording deleted." and the row disappears.

Good to know

  • Only after the session: the recording appears after disconnecting. If the relay could not be reached during the recording, the device uploads it later once it is signed in again — for up to 14 days.
  • Picture only, no sound. Sound is never recorded.
  • Per device: there is no list of all recordings across all devices; you open them device by device.
  • Retention on your own relay: the system administrator sets under SettingsConfiguration in the field Retention of session recordings (days) how long recordings are kept (0 = forever). Older ones are removed the next time the list is opened.
  • Retention in the Cloud: there is no setting of its own for your access yet — write to info@browserdesk.de. You can delete any recording yourself as described above.
  • Data protection: whoever switches recordings on or starts one informs the people concerned and, where necessary, involves the works council. The privacy policy describes this under "Vorschau und Aufzeichnung" (preview and recording).
  • Deleting an access completely also removes its recordings (G23).
  • The path "record → upload → in the console" has not yet been measured on a device.

If it does not work

You seeMeaning and remedy
"No recordings (automatically with “Record sessions” or started by the technician during the session; uploaded after disconnecting)."There is no recording in the console for this device. Mac and Linux devices never upload; a local recording stays with the technician. If the session was still running, wait until after disconnecting. Caution: you see the same sentence if your account is below the role Supervisor — the list is then not empty, you are just not allowed to see it.
"Deleting failed (admin rights required?)."Deleting needs administrator rights on your account.
"Download failed (HTTP …)"The file is gone (for example removed by the retention period) or your sign-in has expired. Reload the list.
