"The app does not run on my Fire TV Stick"
The BrowserDesk app cannot be installed or started on the Fire TV Stick. Usually it is a new stick with Vega OS — no Android app runs there. Here you find which sticks work and what you can do instead.

What it is for
You want to control a computer from the TV, but the BrowserDesk app cannot be installed or does not start on the Fire TV Stick. The app is an Android app. New Fire TV Sticks, however, no longer run Android (Fire OS) but Vega OS — and no Android app runs there.
What you need
- The exact name of your stick (on the box or the invoice).
How to do it
- Which stick is it? Compare with the list:

The list follows Amazon's device list as of 30 September 2026. Watch out with "Stick HD": the 2024 model works, the 2026 model does not.
- A Vega OS stick or Fire OS 5? Then BrowserDesk does not run on it, and nothing can be changed on the stick. Use one of the sticks marked "works" — or control from a phone, tablet or computer instead (D5, D4).
- A stick with Fire OS 6 or newer, but no app? There is no public way to get the app yet (Amazon Appstore). For Android phones, tablets and the Fire TV Stick it is the same APK (C1). There is no guide yet for putting it onto the stick — write to info@browserdesk.de.
- The app is installed but does not start or shows an error? Write to info@browserdesk.de: the name of the stick, the app version and what you see (a photo of the TV is enough). Logs cannot be collected on the stick yourself (H19).
How you know it worked
The TV shows the BrowserDesk interface for the remote control with the number pad for the ID (D5).
Good to know
- The stick is only a viewer. It controls a Windows, macOS or Linux computer; the stick itself cannot be controlled.
- Mind the model when buying: anyone buying a new stick today easily gets a Vega OS device.
If it does not work
